Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the websites, applications and services offered by JJ Studio AI (“JJ Studio AI,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or subscribing, you agree to these Terms.

1. The service

JJ Studio AI is building a camera-based system that estimates a dog's state from ordinary video and adapts calming audio in response. The service is in active development. Features described on our website may change, be delayed, or not ship.

The service is a wellness product. It is not a veterinary device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any medical or behavioural condition in animals or humans. It is not a security or safety monitoring system and must not be relied on to detect emergencies. Always consult a licensed veterinarian about your animal's health.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly at careers@jjstudioai.com if you suspect unauthorised use.

3. Subscriptions, automatic renewal and cancellation

Paid plans are sold as monthly subscriptions. The price, billing interval and any free-trial length are disclosed on the pricing page and on the checkout screen before you pay.

• Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically each month and your payment method is charged the then-current price, until you cancel. If your plan includes a 14-day free trial, the first charge occurs when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
• How to cancel. Cancel any time from your account → Manage billing, which opens our payment provider's portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then.
• Price changes. We will give you at least 30 days' notice by email before any price increase applies to your subscription. Continuing after the notice period means you accept the new price; otherwise, cancel before it takes effect.
• Failed payments. If a charge fails we may retry it and may suspend paid features until payment succeeds.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

4. Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store your full card number. Your use of checkout is also subject to Stripe's terms and privacy policy. You are responsible for any taxes shown at checkout.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract our models, datasets or source code;
• resell, sublicense or share paid access outside the seats your plan allows;
• upload video or audio of any person without their consent, or use the service to surveil people;
• interfere with the service, probe it for vulnerabilities without our written permission, or use it to break any law.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the video, audio and other content you provide. You grant us a limited licence to process it solely to operate and provide the service to you. We will not use your content to train general-purpose models without your separate, explicit opt-in. See the Privacy Policy for details.

7. Our intellectual property

The service, including its software, models, original music and brand, is owned by JJ Studio AI and protected by intellectual-property law. Subject to these Terms we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the service. Music and audio provided through the service may be used only for playback to your own animals through the service, and may not be extracted, redistributed, or used in other works.

8. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will produce any particular effect on any animal.

9. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JJ STUDIO AI WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue a paid service, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material we will notify subscribers by email or in-product notice before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. You and JJ Studio AI agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Alameda County, California, and each of us waives any objection to venue there. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking relief in small claims court.
